God Damn-It.

I come back from vacation, hoping for some good news on the Ioan front (a new role, Alice is pregnant, etc.) and instead I find out that 20th Century Fox is remaking Fantastic Four. None of the cast is coming back, and they're going to try to make the films more serious (the article says more like Iron Man, but I haven't seen it yet, so I can't judge.)

Were the original two REALLY so bad that you need to reboot it after less than two years? (Remember, FF2 came out in July of 07) . And yes, the two films were silly. But the acting (with one exception) wasn't bad, and there's something to be said for light comedy fare.

The project's just in the development stage right now, so no news on casting. They better get someone pretty damn spectacular as Reed, that's all.

*Sigh*. Ioan just cannot catch a break, can he? Well, at least "The Kid" looks to be a go, so there's a chance I'll be able to see him in something in the near future.

As any comic buff will tell you, yeah. They really were that bad. I thought Ioan was fine, but my husband said that his Reed was too likeable, and that R. R. really isn't a likable guy.

While I wish they'd consider Ioan, I understand why they won't, and I am honestly kind of glad they are redoing them, esp since the guy playing VVD was so, so, so wrong.

Yeah, I guess. But frankly, if Ioan's Reed HADN'T been likable, I probably would have blown a gasket (Cracked.com lists Reed as the worst comic book husband ever). I've read the comics myself (the newer incarnations, not the originals), but I guess I was willfully blind (Ioan does this to me).

Yeah, FF wasn't his best work, but it WAS responsible for the gigantic comic of DOOM that I've been writing on and off for the last few years, so I've got some affection for it. That, and the audio commentary for the first film is great.

Ah, well. We'll see where things go with this.

Yeah, I know what you mean. My Jamie love is so blind that I think I rated Pule 2 a B- after viewing it the first time, and it definately deserves much lower than that. (Then again, i prequalified saying it was only a B- compared to other Direct to DVD horror films..which isn't saying much)

I find the FF films infinitely watchable, but that is mostly because I think Ioan is adorable in them and cause I like him in spandex. What can I say? lol!

Yeah, he's pretty good in the spandex. But I'm kinda spoiled by his suits, both from Hornblower and his Modeling.

I LOVED his dance scene in FF2. And what made it cuter was Ioan saying in an interview that he can't really dance, so he felt a little self-conscious.

But the Audio Commentary for the first film will always have a special place in my heart. Ioan is just so adorable in it.
