    <content type="html">It's four in the morning, but I don't much care, because I made it to 25,000 words. It was slow going initially, but then things just started falling into place, and I stopped noticing the word count. I love it when that happens.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Halfway there!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Current word count: 25,143.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;New goal: Get to 30,000 words by the 15th.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Story based Goal: To complete Chapter 5 of the novel.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In other news, &lt;span class='ljuser  ljuser-name_romanticalgirl' lj:user='romanticalgirl' style='white-space: nowrap;'&gt;&lt;a href='http://romanticalgirl.livejournal.com/profile'&gt;&lt;img src='http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif' alt='[info]' width='17' height='17' style='vertical-align: bottom; border: 0; padding-right: 1px;' /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;a href='http://romanticalgirl.livejournal.com/'&gt;&lt;b&gt;romanticalgirl&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt; was absolutely wonderful and wrote a fic for me. I think that may have had something to do with my burst of inspiration; her stories often do that to me.     <title>The Deadline Must Be Messing With My Brain</title>

    <content type="html">Current Word Count: 22,038.&lt;br /&gt;Goal for today: To reach the halfway mark.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm currently a day (or 2,000 words) behind my preferred schedule, but I'm not too worried, especially with the weekend coming up.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm pleased with the way the novel's shaping up. All of the characters are behaving themselves, and I keep coming up with new ways to make sure the story ties together.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And then there are the moments where I sit back and realize that what I've just written is actually pretty good. The death scene I mentioned in my last post was one of them. And oddly enough, so was yesterday, where I wrote 2,000 words of porn.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yes, you read that correctly.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name="cutid1"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;To be fair, it's not explicit porn; most of the acts are implied, and the strongest words I used are words like &amp;quot;entered&amp;quot;. But the fact remains that I wrote two sex scenes, which is really really &lt;em&gt;really &lt;/em&gt;strange for me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I don't think this is a case of trying to pad out the word count. It may not be needed in the sense of moving the plot forward, but by this point in the novel, the readers know something bad's going to happen, so the scenes serve as both the calm before the storm and some dark humor to relieve the tension.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So all in all, the novel's going well, and I hope that my fellow participants are having as much luck as I am. </content>

    <title>A Letter to William Winters, one of the characters in my novel</title>

    <content type="html">Dear William,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Up until today, I had written a grand total of two scenes with you. And yet in those two scenes, you showed your playfulness and sweet nature. What's more, you've been lurking in my mind, whispering ideas for further scenes. You made it supremely hard to do what I&amp;nbsp;had to do.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Of course, it helps that you're based off of Ioan, so of course I'm not going to make you an arse. But you've worked hard to make yourself likable, which I think will help the novel overall.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And today, I took a deep breath, sat down, and wrote your murder/death scene.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;William, you outdid yourself. The scene leading up to your death was pitch-perfect. Not a single line seemed forced, and every action seemed perfectly natural. I could almost see Ioan acting it out in a film version.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And then, when you were stabbed, you faced the end calmly and bravely. Despite the fact that you bled to death in the entrance hall of your home, you bore it as stoically as if you'd been killed in battle. You didn't give any signs that you were pissed at me for doing this to you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am so sorry I put you through this, but if all goes well, you won't have died in vain. Your death has added 1,534 words to the novel, and your sacrifice will set off a series of events that lead to some of the better scenes in the story. Besides, now I can write those sweet moments you've been nagging me about for the past few days.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thank you for making it easy for me to write something so emotionally painful.     <content type="html">Current Word-Count:&amp;nbsp;6,062.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm pleased with my current word-rate. Like so many people,&amp;nbsp;I did the calculations and discovered I need to write 1,666 words a day if I want to make the goal (a number that I think is wildly appropriate, given the plot of my story). In order to have a safety cushion, I&amp;nbsp;write to the next thousand (I.E, if the goal is 7,856, I'll get to 8,000 before calling it a day).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Things that are going well:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. I wrote in my last post that I thought what I'd sketched out in my head would net me 5,000 words. 6,000 words later, and there's still more from my original outline I can put in, in addition to more recent inspirations.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. The dialogue is working fairly well. I have affectionate banter between my married couple and interesting exchanges between my other &amp;quot;couple&amp;quot;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. The centerpiece of the story--a meeting between two of the main characters--is making excellent progress.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Things that I'm not too thrilled with:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. I'm having trouble keeping the naming system clear. Since a lot of the scenes feature one character watching or talking with a mysterious character, I try really hard to keep it secret until the last minute, but it just garbles the syntax.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. I cannot write accents to save my life. One of my characters is supposed to have a lower class accent, but I'm afraid to write it out that way for fear I'll take it to an extreme and be mocked for it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. As one would expect from me, there is a character in this story based on Ioan. He's a combination of William Wilberforce and Kenneth Grahame (from the upcoming &amp;quot;Banking on Mr. Toad&amp;quot;), and while I haven't written much with him, he's great to write for. The problem is, I'm growing extremely fond of his character. Ordinarily this wouldn't be a bad thing, except that if I want this novel to work, I have to kill him off. It would be one thing if his death scene happened offstage, or if it was painless, or if he died but came back through dreams or seances or something. But no, I &lt;em&gt;had &lt;/em&gt;to decide that this story would feature a brutal death scene of a Ioan inspired character, and what's more, that he will have a goodbye scene. It's going to be very painful to write, and I have to do it quickly, or else I won't be able to do it at all, and the story's ruined. So you may see another post on here in a few days with me all depressed and in need of a hug. Maybe I'll even post the offending passage on here.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One way or another, wish me luck.     <content type="html">For whatever reason (the challenge, perhaps?) I've signed up to participate in National Novel Writing Month. I have an idea that I'm sketching out in my head, and I'm just waiting for November First so I&amp;nbsp;can put it down on paper. The parts I've thought through so far could probably net me about 5,000 words, which is a start, I suppose.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyone else on my friends-list participating as well?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In unrelated news, it's been snowing pretty hard these last two days. The skies are almost perpetually grey, and the snowfall ranges from light flurries to giant flakes, but it's practically nonstop.     <content type="html">I&amp;nbsp;have been posting WAY&amp;nbsp;too infrequently on here. I&amp;nbsp;blame life. Since I've just finished a big project, I decided that it's high time for a post.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm sure most people on LJ&amp;nbsp;are aware of the community &lt;span class='ljuser  ljuser-name_fandom_secrets' lj:user='fandom_secrets' style='white-space: nowrap;'&gt;&lt;a href='http://community.livejournal.com/fandom_secrets/profile'&gt;&lt;img src='http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif' alt='[info]' width='16' height='16' style='vertical-align: bottom; border: 0; padding-right: 1px;' /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;a href='http://community.livejournal.com/fandom_secrets/'&gt;&lt;b&gt;fandom_secrets&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;. Reading some of the secrets, I was tempted to post some of my own, but frankly, if there's something I like or hate about a fandom, I'm going to be vocal about it and not care who knows it (Exhibit A; the fact that I pimp out the Hornblower miniseries at the drop of a hat).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With that in mind, here are two Ioan/Hornblower &amp;quot;secrets&amp;quot; of mine.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name="cutid1"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;1. I&amp;nbsp;want these two men in a movie (specifically, a musical) together;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000fpz21/"&gt;&lt;img width="320" height="214" border="0" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000fpz21/s320x240" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000fqk50/"&gt;&lt;img width="165" height="240" border="0" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000fqk50/s320x240" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The one on the right is singer Josh Groban, who has this absolutely fantastic voice. So I want Ioan and Josh to play brothers, with Josh as the younger brother with a great deal of musical talent. Imagining these two dueting together makes me very happy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. I have the world's most cracktastic Hornblower OTP. Not only does the other half of the pairing come from another fandom, she'd have a problem blending in...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000frx33/"&gt;&lt;img width="169" height="240" border="0" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000frx33/s320x240" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Her name is Amelia, and she's from Disney's &lt;em&gt;Treasure Planet. &lt;/em&gt;The movie itself was mediocre, but her character is fantastic. I love the idea of her and Horatio as a couple, because I think she could draw him out of his shell.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The hardest part about shipping these two is trying to come up with a plausible reason to get the two of them into the same universe. I like to pretend that she was born in the 1700's with a genetic mutation that gave her the cat ears, and she's been allowed to be a ship's captain mainly out of pity. She's chained to her ship, the &lt;em&gt;Legacy, &lt;/em&gt;until war's end, at which point she will resign her command permanently and go back to civilian life. She's afraid of failure, but masks it behind her spirited personality. Once Horatio sees that she's more like him than he thought, he becomes attracted to her.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As I've said before, my mind's a strange place. On the other hand, I wouldn't have it any other way.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;</content>

The film begins with Peter Blood, our hero, being sold into slavery in Port Royal for supposedly siding with the Royalists&amp;nbsp;(This takes place in the late 1600's). After refusing to be beat down and falling in love with the governor's daughter, Blood and some loyal fellow slaves escape during a Spanish attack on the port, steal the ship, and become pirates. The rest is just awesomeness, as you may imagine.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Errol Flynn is fantastic in this film; no wonder he became a star. For Holmes fans, Basil Rathbone appears as a evil pirate, who Flynn (of course) fences with. There are sea battles, comedic supporting characters, great costumes...this film has it all. I think it was this film, more than any other, that influenced the creators of &lt;em&gt;Pirates of the Caribbean&lt;/em&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While looking for a poster to put up here, I discovered that Hollywood is planning on remaking it. BLASPHEMY, I tell you! I've been checking IMDB daily for news on Alice's pregnancy, but it wasn't until last night that I decided to check &lt;em&gt;Alice's &lt;/em&gt;news instead of &lt;em&gt;Ioan&lt;/em&gt;'s. And as it turns out, it paid off.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ladies and gentlemen, as of September 6th...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: xx-large;"&gt;Ioan is officially a Dad.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name="cutid1"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;It's a girl, which is what Ioan really wanted. Her name is Ella Betsi.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Slightly more disconcerting is the fact that she weighed 6 lbs, 3 oz, which I think is a bit low. Also, Alice's labor took &lt;em&gt;40 hours. &lt;/em&gt;I feel so sorry for both her and Ioan.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here's hoping everything turns out ok for them, and congratulations.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;</content>

The selections include strange poetry, bizarre plays, a declaration that William Gladstone, British Prime minister, is the anti-christ, and mathematical definitions that make no sense whatsoever. Recommended for people who enjoy things like MST3K.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;</content>

    <content type="html">As with others online, I'm absolutely bewildered that &lt;em&gt;Disney&lt;/em&gt; is buying &lt;em&gt;Marvel Comics&lt;/em&gt;. How is THAT&amp;nbsp;going to turn out? I'm picturing animated superhero movies with wise-cracking talking animals. While it's easy to come up with companions for people like Spider-Man, Doctor Octopus, and Wolverine, I'm having trouble with the Fantastic Four's sidekick. Chameleon, maybe?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At any rate, the FF remake is a little easier to handle now.&amp;nbsp;Ioan got out while the going was good.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name="cutid1"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Ok, now I've got some trivia and a challenge for my friends-list.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We all know that Ioan played a certain smart and stretchy superhero some years back, and despite the fact that the movies were incredibly silly and forced Ioan into awkward positions, they were, on the whole, decent.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But did you know that Ioan played &lt;em&gt;another &lt;/em&gt;superhero? For DC, no less?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Considering the name of his Marvel alter-ego, I doubt you guys will be surprised by this. I&amp;nbsp;give you...Mr. Miracle!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.batman-superman.com/superman/img/miracle1.gif"&gt;&lt;img src="http://www.batman-superman.com/superman/img/miracle1.gif" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mr. Miracle's superpower isn't so much a power as a talent. He's the greatest escape artist in the universe. Yes, the universe. He happens to be an alien, although a peek under the mask reveals a very human face. He comes from the planet Apokalips, where he was tortured as a kid before he managed to escape, the first person to manage it. He migrated to earth (along with his sexy wife, Big Barda), and is now more of a publicity seeking magician than a superhero, though he pitches in when people need help. His real name is Scott Free, and I'm ashamed to admit I didn't get the meaning/joke of this name for the longest time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I don't think Mr. Miracle has ever been portrayed in live-action form (probably because the costume is, let's face it, silly), but he used to show up in old &amp;quot;Justice League&amp;quot; cartoons. He never got a voice or a backstory until &amp;quot;Justice League Unlimited&amp;quot;, when the producers decided to cast Ioan, for whatever reason. Whether or not this gig came before or after FF is open to debate.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, here's the episode. I'm sorry to say that they made him put on an American accent, instead of his natural Welsh accent. If they can have a German guy on Apokalips, they can have a Welsh guy. Also, if you listen, you may hear Lt.     <title>I'm Baaack...</title>

    <content type="html">I am finally back on LiveJournal, and I'm glad to be back. I missed you guys.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I wish I could come back with great stories, but I don't really have a lot of news.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So instead, here's a little list of some semi-interesting things I did during my hiatus.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name="cutid1"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;1. I've learned that Ioan's got a new project. It's called &amp;quot;Banking on Mr. Toad&amp;quot;, and it's a biopic about the guy who wrote &amp;quot;The Wind in the Willows&amp;quot;. Ioan's playing the lead. Also, the movie's set in the 1800's, so I've got a good chance of seeing suit porn.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. I watched the old HBO series &lt;em&gt;Rome&lt;/em&gt;, and discovered this man:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f8abe/"&gt;&lt;img width="320" height="240" border="0" alt="" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f8abe/s320x240" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;He played young Octavian for all of the first season and two or three of the second. He's a brilliant actor and (as you can see) very easy on the eyes. But I had the nagging feeling that I'd seen him before. After a little bit of research, I discovered that I &lt;em&gt;had &lt;/em&gt;seen him before, in a rather...familiar setting:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f9a20/"&gt;&lt;img width="320" height="200" border="0" alt="" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f9a20/s320x240" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That is correct; out of all the men on the show that I found sexy, I gravitated to the guy who played Midshipman Blakeney in &lt;em&gt;Master and Commander&lt;/em&gt;. I think I need a twelve-step program.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. I worked sporadically on a comic book series that I've been doing for about five years, and managed to get to page 700, which is quite possibly the longest thing I&amp;nbsp;have ever written, both in terms of length and in sticking to it. I'm hoping I can actually manage to finish it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4. I&amp;nbsp;took a trip to Portland, Oregon, and wound up in Powell's bookstore, which is the greatest bookstore in the world. Every room is the size of your average library, and the prices are really reasonable.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This bookstore is so extensive that it has an entire section set aside for &amp;quot;Nautical Fiction&amp;quot;. The Hornblower series alone takes up a shelf and a half. But what makes this &lt;em&gt;really &lt;/em&gt;entertaining is the type of fiction placed next to it...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000fazd8/"&gt;&lt;img width="320" height="240" border="0" alt="" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000fazd8/s320x240" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Whoever set up the shelves is aware of slash.     <title>Yeah, I'm Nuts, But at Least I'm Semi-Justified This Time,</title>

    <content type="html">So last Sunday I went to watch a certain film that one could summarize as &amp;quot;The Navy In Space&amp;quot;, aka &amp;quot;Star Trek&amp;quot;. It wasn't bad, but I felt it needed work. Granted, it &lt;em&gt;is &lt;/em&gt;an origin story, so they have some kinks to smooth out, and maybe the next film will be better (But PLEASE, keep Scotty the way he was. He's the best part of the film.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, I got home from the event and, in the course of letting my mind wander (It has a ten foot long leash), I&amp;nbsp;remembered that I'd read somewhere that Gene Roddenberry based Kirk off of one Mr. Hornblower. That got me wondering how the Horatio we saw in the Miniseries would have reacted to the Kirk as portrayed in this Film. I&amp;nbsp;don't think he'd have been overly thrilled with Shatner's Kirk, but this one would have made him blow a gasket.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;From there, It made me start thinking about who the characters from Hornblower most resembled, beginning, of course with the HTHS. It didn't take that long, as the original &amp;quot;Star Trek&amp;quot; has a canon Holy Trinity of it's own.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name="cutid1"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;HORATIO:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Personality: Withdrawn, intelligent, finds interesting ways to get around obstacles (and pretends he's not breaking laws), feels deeply but is afraid of showing it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Star Trek Counterpart:&amp;nbsp;Spock. After all the hype about how he was the inspiration for Kirk AND&amp;nbsp;Picard, The Horatio I've read and seen acts more like Spock (except for the whole &amp;quot;having sex in every other book&amp;quot; thing).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;ARCHIE:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Personality (as seen in Mutiny and Retribution):&amp;nbsp;Funny, intelligent, risk-taker, friendly, loyal, brave.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Star Trek Counterpart:&amp;nbsp;Kirk. Yes, despite my Ioan obsession, I really do feel that Jamie as Kirk would be, well, awesome. If Archie had been developed a bit more, I think he'd have turned into a captain whose crew loved him and a man with a sense of humor bordering on irreverent. Not to mention the fact that he'd probably have a girl in every port.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;BUSH:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Personality:&amp;nbsp;Loyal, stern but affectionate, a little guarded initially, then opens up once he knows you, likes looking out for those in charge.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Star Trek Counterpart:&amp;nbsp;McCoy. He's not quite as emotional or over the top as the McCoy we saw in the original series, but he's a balance between Archie's Happy-go-lucky attitude and Horatio's brooding one. He can take a certain amount of abuse from both sides and handles himself well in a crisis (and doctors would definitely need that). Plus, hearing him yell &amp;quot;Dammit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a {insert thing here}!&amp;quot; with that voice would be hilarious.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I&amp;nbsp;wish I had a more well-developed plot bunny and/or photomanip skills, or I'd do something about this idea.&amp;nbsp;Sadly, all I could find was this picture from Ioan Online (RIP)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f702e/"&gt;&lt;img height="240" border="0" width="192" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f702e/s320x240" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(By the way, &lt;span class='ljuser  ljuser-name_xbeyondinsanex' lj:user='xbeyondinsanex' style='white-space: nowrap;'&gt;&lt;a href='http://xbeyondinsanex.livejournal.com/profile'&gt;&lt;img src='http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif' alt='[info]' width='17' height='17' style='vertical-align: bottom; border: 0; padding-right: 1px;' /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;a href='http://xbeyondinsanex.livejournal.com/'&gt;&lt;b&gt;xbeyondinsanex&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp;, when I googled &amp;quot;Jame Bamber Star Trek&amp;quot;, the first picture that came up was his PETA poster. Every time I read or watch an interview with him, I learn something new. I get overprotective when he's insulted, which is probably not typical behavior. All this, and I would &lt;em&gt;still &lt;/em&gt;freeze up&amp;nbsp; if I ever ran into him. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. &lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f1w3s/"&gt;&lt;img height="240" border="0" width="240" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f1w3s/s320x240" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is directly related to #1. I prick up my ears when Wales is mentioned and once brought a Welsh Flag to a class on &lt;em&gt;Henry V&lt;/em&gt;. I am determined to learn at least a few basic Welsh words (and proper pronunciation) before I die. I get angry when people insult them (unless they're Welsh themselves) and laugh if it's brought up in a humorous context (see QI).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. &lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f2bct/"&gt;&lt;img height="240" border="0" width="319" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f2bct/s320x240" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Again, directly related to #1. Thanks to the miniseries, I read the entire Hornblower series and became fascinated with all things French-Rev.&amp;nbsp; I&amp;nbsp;made a Hornblower Costume for one Halloween...and I still wear it. I&amp;nbsp;pimp the series out whenever an opportunity arises and have never forgiven A&amp;amp;E&amp;nbsp;for cancelling it. My first serious work was a Hornblower fanfiction, so I guess I partly have Ioan to blame for launching my writing career.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ok, how about some things I go nuts over that AREN'T Ioan related?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4. &lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000ebd6b/"&gt;&lt;img height="240" border="0" width="236" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000ebd6b/s320x240" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I seriously think I could live on spaghetti for a whole year. I love the stuff, and order it at restaurants if it's available. Unless the sauce is hideously burned, I never met a spaghetti I wouldn't eat.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5. &lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f3cws/"&gt;&lt;img height="223" border="0" width="320" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f3cws/s320x240" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am such a cat person. I doubt I'd ever become a crazy cat lady--two at a time is my limit. But I love having cats sleeping on my lap, hearing them purr, and petting them. I've had three cats so far, and I plan to have plenty more.&amp;nbsp;I've picked out some names I&amp;nbsp;like and am just waiting for an opportunity to get one. The fact that Ioan's said he's allergic to them breaks my heart (and is one of the few reasons we would be incompatable if dating him had ever been possible.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6. &lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f4qe7/"&gt;&lt;img height="240" border="0" width="243" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f4qe7/s320x240" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This stands in for Dance Music more than Depeche Mode per se. I love music, especially techno. I tend to be a reserved person, but put on something like &amp;quot;Personal Jesus&amp;quot; and I'll go crazy on the dance floor. I love making dance albums and can often be seen either humming or wearing a pair of earphones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;7. This song (although I don't like the video so much).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;lj-embed id="2" /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;quot;Broken&amp;quot; has been my favorite song for years. It's both a romantic song and a sad one, and I listen to it whenever I'm in one of those moods. I can sing both the guy and the girl's part and translated it into French just for the hell of it. I'm not sure why I adore this song; I think it has something to do with the violin interlude near the end. When I die, I want this song played at my funeral, although I'm sure everyone who knows me will be sick of it by then.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;8.&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f50hc/"&gt;&lt;img height="240" border="0" width="320" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f50hc/s320x240" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I&amp;nbsp;will take &lt;em&gt;any &lt;/em&gt;excuse to get dressed up nicely. I like wearing dresses, but I&amp;nbsp;don't do it often in my normal life because they're kinda inconvienient. But if there's going to be a special event, or I'm going out to see a show (live, not movie), I'll find a nice dress and accesorize the hell out of it, but never to excess (I hope). &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;9. Anything funny, hence no representing picture. Donald O'Connor's &amp;quot;Make 'em Laugh&amp;quot; is completely accurate in my case (and when I first saw that scene in&lt;em&gt; Singin' in the Rain&lt;/em&gt;, I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe). If I've had a rough day, going on Youtube and searching for &amp;quot;Qi&amp;quot; or &amp;quot;Whose Line&amp;quot; clips tends to cheer me up. While I don't go in for overly crude humor (ie modern comedy movies), I&amp;nbsp;enjoy slapstick and wordplay (we're big with puns in my family).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;10. &lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f620d/"&gt;&lt;img height="240" border="0" width="246" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000f620d/s320x240" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These are the nine muses, and they're standing in for creativity. If I get the urge to write or draw, I&amp;nbsp;damn well better obey it quickly, because I never know when it will come again. I write often, but only rarely do I get that feeling that completely overwhelms me and puts me &amp;quot;in the zone&amp;quot;. Some of my best pieces have come out of that feeling.     <content type="html">After weeks of nothing on the Ioan front, Imdb finally has something new.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No, it's not a new film.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name="cutid1"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class="ljcut" text="Wait for it..."&gt;&lt;span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 128);"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: x-large;"&gt;Ioan's going to be a father!!!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm really happy for him. He's clearly wanted this for a long time, and I&amp;nbsp;bet he's going to be good at it. I don't think he knows quite what he's getting into, though, if this quote is any indication;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;quot;have my eyes on a brood of three. Ideally I would love a little daughter born in the same month as Alice, because then she would be this strong-headed, fun-loving young thing and it would be great to have two women with that kind of energy in the house.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Three kids?     <title>The Best of Mother Nature</title>

    <content type="html">It has been snowing non-stop today. For awhile, it was light flurries; enough to stick to the ground, but didn't really stick to the pavement/streets. I went to watch a movie, and when I&amp;nbsp;got out, it was sticking to everything and was several inches deep (enough to call out a snowplow). And it doesn't show any signs of stopping.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is ridiculous. It's APRIL! The poem is &amp;quot;April Showers Bring May Flowers&amp;quot;, not &amp;quot;April Snow Helps May to Glow&amp;quot;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fortunately, my room is warm and I have a nice view of snow covered trees to make up for it. But it's getting dark, so I guess I need to find something pretty to take its place...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name="cutid1"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000e2r8z/"&gt;&lt;img width="320" height="211" border="0" alt="" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000e2r8z/s320x240" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Is it wrong that I've always kinda wanted to see one of Ioan's characters get sick and be confined to bed? Unfortunately, this is the best I've got.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, he's done plenty of sex scenes. I'm honestly not sure if I actually want to see the films these scenes are in.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000e39qr/"&gt;&lt;img width="320" height="207" border="0" alt="" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000e39qr/s320x240" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000e4yz9/"&gt;&lt;img width="320" height="147" border="0" alt="" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000e4yz9/s320x240" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(I&amp;nbsp;HAVE&amp;nbsp;seen this film, but this scene wasn't in there. It's a sign of how freaking AWFUL&amp;nbsp;the film was that I wanted to see this scene. Shirtless Ioan does tend to make things a lot better.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000e5hcg/"&gt;&lt;img width="320" height="199" border="0" alt="" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000e5hcg/s320x240" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ioan's been typecast. Both as a heroic type and as the type who will get naked regularly. How else to explain THIS:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000e6q6x/"&gt;&lt;img width="128" height="240" border="0" alt="" src="http://pics.livejournal.com/ioanite/pic/000e6q6x/s320x240" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I&amp;nbsp;cannot bring myself to watch this on youtube. Anytime he's naked from the waist down, I&amp;nbsp;get nervous. The bathing scene in &amp;quot;Mutiny&amp;quot; sent me into terrified hysterics. It's the best time for a fangirl to watch a shirtless Ioan, but when that scene comes on, I&amp;nbsp;cover my eyes and don't look until I know Sawyer's shown up.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And yet, I regularly wonder what would have happened had Sawyer sent Horatio to the brig and not allowed him to put his clothes back on. It would have made the scene more interesting. (Later in the book series, Horatio is interrupted during a shower and is forced to confront a French Ship...completely starkers. I&amp;nbsp;envision very creative camera angles for THAT one).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, this has been a completely pointless post. Just thought I'd grace my friends page with some half-naked men. Enjoy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;</content>
